Blue sky

nothing but blue sky

There’s possibility in blue sky,

a promise of something good.

A hint of a day by the sea, perhaps?

Salty air

and a barefoot walk.

Or maybe green, rolling hills beckon?

Sun speckled streams

and an endless view.

Yes, there’s possibility.

Mistakes

I cannot fix.

Do I let them go;

silence them forever?

~

Yes

(the right answer).

Sometimes, there is a weight that needs throwing overboard, otherwise you will sink.

It was a dream

it was a dream 2

Aching with sadness,

I let you go

like a child’s balloon,

and watched you float away.

Not all dreams can be achieved; I know this now.

But I looked at what I had, and found, that more had been fulfilled than I’d realised.

A trip to town

Fresh ground coffee

ripe melons

the grocery shop

smell; memory

my hand held tight

safe; loved

green apples

juice on my chin

mum’s freckly arms

the bus bell pressed

then we’re home.

Beauty is…

Blue sky and blossom 3

…many, many things, but today it was

a surprise blue sky after a grey, rainy day.

This quote below, from one of my favourite people in the whole world and genius songwriter, describes beauty wonderfully…

“Life is so full of unpredictable beauty and strange surprises. Sometimes that beauty is too much for me to handle. Do you know that feeling? When something is just too beautiful? When someone says something or writes something or plays something that moves you to the point of tears, maybe even changes you.” ― Mark Oliver Everett, Things The Grandchildren Should Know

Grey, is so last season

Grey is so last season

Well, hello morning,

here we are again;

me half naked

and half asleep,

and you wide awake

and fully dressed.

What colour do you

have on today?

Sunshine yellow

or that grey number

you’ve been wearing lately?

You do know it’s spring,

don’t you…

and that grey is so last season?

Take a fashion tip

from me,

yellow really suits you,

and even better,

with a hint of sky blue.

We appear to have lost spring around here…if you see it anywhere, inbox me, thanks.

A hand to hold

A hand to hold

When I held your tiny hand

I felt a whole life in it

the need to love you

and your need to be loved.

Sometimes, I miss that tiny hand in mine, it’s now the hand of a boy becoming a man, no longer wanting to be held so much…but still needing to be loved.

Happy Friday : )

Whisper

You called her to you

whispered on the wind.

She came bare-footed

beguiled by your black ink depths,

with the moon and stars

reflected like jewels.

You offered them to her; a crown

Queen of the Ocean

ever yours, even when you roar.
