Flamborough Head

A summer’s day in March

with the sound of the sea, lapping.

Seagulls dipping, then soaring, high

and eating ice cream with the two people I love most.

Then, underneath a clear blue sky

we travelled home, us three.

To the right, the sun, slowly sinking

its colour, changing, from yellow-gold to vermilion.

Writing, learning and connecting with March prompt-a-day over at write alm; today’s is ‘underneath’.
